You will receive an email prior to race day which will contain any relevant information you need to know about the event including getting there, parking etc.  Please check your spam folder in case it’s gone in there.

General

Registration opens at 7.30am on Sunday 7th April at the Muckmedden tent in the event village.  Here you must collect your race number and zip-ties (for fastening it to your handlebars) and a timing chip which should be worn on your right ankle (if you are competing as a pair, you must ensure you give the timing chip to your team mate prior to them going out on a lap!).

There will be a mass start leaving the event village at 9am.  If you believe you will be competing at the “sharp end” of the field, you should go near the front of the grid, if you do not believe you will be competing with the fastest riders, please position yourself nearer the back of the grid to avoid holding up any faster riders and causing yourself unnecessary stress.

Riders will not be allowed to start another lap after 3pm and all riders must be back in the event village by 4pm to make their final lap count.

Podium and prize-giving at 4.30pm approx – all riders will have the chance to win some swag in our Random Raffle, but you have to be there to collect your prize.

The Course

A lung-busting 8-10 mile course with (roughly) 250m of ascent per lap.  You can expect to be riding for 6 hours on slippery roots, gnarly rocks, tough climbs and technical downhills with some linking fireroad sections to help you (almost) get your breath back.  The aim is to complete as many laps of the course as possible between 9am and 3pm.  Riders may finish an existing lap after 3pm if they are already on course, but all riders must be back in the event village by 4pm to make their last lap count.

Mandatory Equipment

  • Fully fastening, undamaged safety helmet
  • Bar end plugs
  • Fully-functional mountain bike of any type
  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Sufficient fluid/snacks for each lap (there will be a feed station halfway round the course with snacks and fluids)

Recommended Equipment

  • Packable, thermal/waterproof layer
  • Riding gloves
  • Spare tubes/noodles, quick-links, multi-tool, mini-pump/co2 cartridge
