Apparently millions of people enjoy riding on….wait for it…..tarmac!  No mud, no slippery roots and no getting butt-nekid on the back step after a ride so you don’t drag mud into the house.  Who knew?!  Apparently it’s getting quite popular too, so we’re embracing this new craze by hosting our first Road Bike event at Cream o’ the Croft!

Bald tyres and curvy handlebars?  Prolonged climbs on deserted highland roads?  It’ll never catch on….

Seriously though, we’re super excited to be working with Audax UK to deliver our first road event “The Breadalbane 100” as part of this year’s amazing Cream o’ the Croft line-up on Saturday 16th June.  100 miles of pure cycling heaven through the very best of Perthshire’s High Ground.  Completed in one day, this is an achievement to be crossed off the bucket list.  And it’s only a piffling fiver on top of the price of a regular Festival Pass!

It’s no secret that Highland Perthshire boasts some of the most spectacular road biking in the country and this amazing AAA (Audax Altitude Award) certified route is set to be an amazing day in the hills whether you’re big into road biking, or working up to your first “ton” ride.  If you’re not familiar with the term “Audax”, here’s some blurb from the Audax UK website to give you an idea of what these events are all about:

“An Audax is not a race.  People ride Audax’s more in the spirit of an event like the London Marathon, with everyone riding to their own limitations, the primary objective to just ‘get round.  These events suit everyone, clubmen, time-trialists, recreational riders, cycletourists, ‘born again’ cyclists, young and old, male and female.  And you’ll see all sorts of machines – bikes, tandems, trikes, recumbents, and occasionally even stranger things.”
