Definition of Fun: Playful; not serious; something that provides amusement.

Definition of Tame: Toned down; lacking in excitement; dull.

Some things are not easy to describe.  For example, if your best friend had never tasted chocolate before, how would you describe it to them?

You: “Here bestest friend, try this stuff.  It’s called chocolate and it’s really brown and sweet.”

Your friend:  “No thanks, I’ve tried Treacle and I didn’t like it.”

You: “No it’s nothing like treacle.  Honestly take a bite, it’s delicious, it’s just so rich and creamy.”

Your friend:  “Yuck, it sounds like Tartare Sauce.  I don’t like Tartare Sauce either.”

You:  “No it’s nothing like Tartare Sauce or Treacle.  Just take a bite, I know you’ll love it because it just melts in your mouth.”

Your friend:  “What, like lard?  Yuck!”

You: “Sorry but we can no longer be friends you irritating human being.  Goodbye.”

Your friend once you’ve gone:  “Tartare Sauce, Treacle and Lard together?  What a weirdo.”

Anyway the point is, if you’ve never tried The Eliminator Head2Head MTB Race before, you might not really “get” the concept of an uplifted downhill mountain bike race for any kind of bike and any kind of rider.  Told you it’s like chocolate……

Sceptic 1:  “Why would I enter a downhill race if I’m not a “Downhiller?  Sounds a bit too gnarly for me.”

Muckmedden:  Because riding down hills is the most Fun part of Mountain Biking! Racing against someone else makes it even more Fun and all the features are either  roll-able or avoidable on this track.  Honestly, you should try it.

Sceptic 2:  I’m an Enduro/Trail/XC Rider, why do I need an uplift?  I’m perfectly capable of riding my trail bike uphill thanks.

Muckmedden:  Because although it’s not exactly Ben Nevis, getting to the trail head of the Head2head track involves going up a very steep hill time after time after time.  After ten runs your legs would literally fall off.  Plus getting uplifted by tractor and trailer is also great Fun.  Seriously, give it a go, you’ll love it!

Sceptic 3:  I’m a gnarly Downhiller and the track looks a bit Tame for me, I’m used to riding Fort Bill and Glencoe you know.

Muckmedden:  The Head2Head track is less full-on than a regular downhill track but it’s no less Fun.  There are options to get some serious air on the way and when you and your opponent are entering the forest side by side at warp-factor 9 and whooping inside your helmets, you’ll be glad you entered.  Go on, give it a go!

Sceptic 3 again:  Nah, sounds a bit Tame mate.

Muckmedden:  “Goodbye annoying person, we’re off to have Fun AND eat chocolate at the same time and perhaps even wash it down with a pint of beer…….coz that’s how we Muckin’ roll.”  🙂

There are still a handful of spaces left for the Eliminator Head2Head MTB Race but once they’re gone, they’re gone.  Pop over to The Eliminator page and get entering!
