Since 2012 the Met Office have been referring to the Muckin’ event schedule before releasing any weather forecasts, as this has been scientifically proven to be the most accurate method of predicting the weather.

If you’ve never been to a Muckmedden event you may not be aware of the unwritten rule that says “Three months beforeth each Muckin’ Good Event, therest shalt be a long dry spell.  Thy oh-so-hot sunshine doth seem to last forever and baketh thy trails into beautiful dusty hard-pack and the good mountain bikers of Scotland won’t believeth their luck.”

But Mucker Nature’s fooling no one.

Two or three weeks before any of our events she cooks up a potent broth of crazy weather including showers of locusts, acid rain, electric hailstorms and 8ft of snow – in July.  But don’t worry, a couple of days before each event she always comes up with the goods and cracks open a bottle of Scorching Sunshine and everyone rubs their helmet and shouts “Hurrah for Mucker Nature!  She is-eth the dogs danglies!”

I think all these late nights are getting to me.  Let’s move on.

Who can believe that the 2016 season is about to start in three weeks time and it’s going to be an absolutely belting weekend regardless of the weather (but it will be sunny).  Cream o’ the Croft ticket sales are waaaaaaaaay up on last year so it looks like it’s going to be an absolutely packed weekend in more ways than one.  If you haven’t got yours yet, do it now before you get distracted again and it’s too late!
