It’s Muckmedden’s fourth birthday!  On this very day in 2012 the first ever Muckmedden MTB Event took place in Pitmedden and four years, sixteen tons of mud and eight tons of cake later and our events are going stronger than ever.  Who knew?!

Certainly not li’l ol’ moi.

Without getting too deep on y’all, it’s amazing how quickly time passes.  I simply can’t believe it’s been four years since we were taping off a 9 mile course in Pitmedden for the “Muckmedden MTB Event”.  It’s undoubtedly the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done and I probably wouldn’t remember a thing about it if it wasn’t for Morrocco Media’s video and all the images I’ve seen from that day.

So why is it that four years later I’m psyching up to do another four Muckin’ Good Events and my full-time job is now event organising!?

When you were small did you ever touch your tongue against the terminals on one of those square 9v batteries?  Not a particularly nice feeling but it’s exciting enough that you have to try it a second time just to make sure it’s not a particularly nice feeling….and then a third time just to confirm how unpleasant it is.

For me, event organising is the job-equivalent of licking a 9v battery and for whatever reason I can’t seem to stop doing it, so unfortunately you may have to put up with another four years of unpleasantness and dodgy blogs.  Sorry about that.

Keep an edgy out over the next few days for details of our first event of the year, Cream o’ the Croft.  I’ve said that a few times lately, but we have now finalised the schedule for the weekend and all will be revealed very soon.  We have a lot of really cool new stuff going on at the festival this year and it’s all very, very exciting.  You thought last year was good?  This is going to one amazing weekend at The Croft.

Pass that battery please, I’m going in….
