Last year as you may know, we ran a pilot series of ladies ride days in an attempt to build female rider’s confidence and inspire more women to enter Muckmedden races.  We called it Muckmaiden, and it was a big success.

So, Muckmaiden Ladies Ride Days are back in 2016 with expert guiding from Ginger Squirrel Adventures.  In case you’ve never heard of them, here’s what they’re all about:

About Us

Ginger Squirrel Adventures are a non-profit organisation who provide guided ride outs with the aim to encourage more women and girls to get out there and ride bikes.  All profits are reinvested towards keeping the girls camps affordable and purchasing equipment for use.

We also aim to provide financial help towards increasing the amount of females holding British Cycling’s Mountain Bike Leadership Awards and associated Outdoor First Aid.

Whether you want to race to win or to socialise, ride natural singletrack or just spend an afternoon sessioning the jump park we will encourage and support you and give you advice on where to go.  We are just as happy riding core paths as we are in full face helmets and goggles.  As long as we are on 2 wheels, we are happy.

Our Objectives

To encourage females of all ages to participate in cycling.

To provide an opportunity to meet like minded females in a social environment.

To encourage women to undertake cycling related training, racing and skills courses.  To share knowledge and encourage learning of navigation, mechanical repairs, first aid, nutrition and training techniques.

To build confidence in girls and women to travel throughout Scotland by bicycle.  To learn the skills to undertake offroad activities in remote area as a solo individual, or within a group environment.

Although we encourage females, we are not exclusive.  Men and boys are welcome to attend if they feel this type of environment is right for them.

Muckmaiden Ride Outs are FREE with every female Muckmedden race entry while stocks last, or cost £12.50 without a race entry.  Sound good?  Just click here to enter.
